The Black Faculty and Staff Association at the University of South Alabama established in 2017 is an officially recognized organization with a mission to promote an environment fostering cultural sensitivity and enrichment by providing networking opportunities and support for all faculty, staff, and students at the University of South Alabama.  

 


The Ladora Farley-Howard Black Faculty and Staff Association Scholarship was established in 2021 by the family, friends, and colleagues of Ladora Farley-Howard. It supports full-time undergraduate students at South who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and a 23 or greater ACT/converted SAT score. Preference is given to students with financial need and those majoring in speech and hearing sciences, communications, social work, physical education, special education, business management, or business marketing. Applicants must submit an essay as part of the application process.
