Office of Financial Aid -- Making Quality Education Affordable
We are committed to providing student financial assistance to eligible students to help pay the costs associated with attending college. As you navigate through our site, you will discover the various types of student financial assistance that are available through our department, the application procedures, eligibility requirements and the application deadline dates.
As a reminder, 15% of Fall 2018 tuition is due to the Office of Student Accounting by Monday, July 23, 2018 to secure student's schedules for Fall 2018 term. To verify if 15% payment is due, please refer to the 15% calculator in PAWS:
- Click on Enter Secure Area
- Enter JAG Number and PIN
- Click on Student Services and Financial Aid
- Click on Student Records
- Click on 15% Payment Calculator
- Select the term
If the 15% Payment Calculator displays $0, the student has met the 15% payment requirement and no payment is due. If a student has housing and meal plan charges, but will not register for classes until after July 23, 2018, the 15% payment is not a requirement.
If a student misses the 15% Payment Deadline, they will be given the opportunity to register again for classes. However, if a student’s schedule is cancelled there is no guarantee the student’s preferred schedule will remain available.
For additional payment deadlines and information on how to make payments, please refer to the Office of Student Accounting's website.

The Department of Education has announced that students eligible for Federal Pell Grant may be able to receive a 3rd disbursement of Pell Grant during the same academic year. As a result, USA will implement Year Round Pell Grant starting Summer 2018.
Year Round Pell Grant will allow students to receive up to 150% of their Pell Grant funds in one academic year if eligible. One full time semester of Pell Grant equals 50%. Any additional Pell Grant disbursement will be included in the student's 600% maximum Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU), which is equivalent to 12 full time semesters. Students can check their Pell Grant LEU on the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
In order to be eligible for the 3rd disbursement, students must be eligible for Pell Grant as determined by the Department of Education and must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) for the Summer semester.
Summer Pell Grant eligibility will be reviewed within 3-5 business days once the student has registered for Summer semester. Students will receive an email at their JagMail email address when a determination on their Summer financial aid (including Summer Pell Grant) has been made.
